Birth Art

We currently are available to gather virtually for Process Art sessions, which will be presented through the Birthing from Within model known as Birth Art. Caroline is a certified Birthing from Within Mentor and uses this body of knowledge and philosophy to inform her sessions. Contact Caroline to discuss pricing and set up a private session. You can also join our free Group Sessions to try it out.

Process Art is a fun & meaningful way to prepare for a transformative event. Creating art mirrors labor and new parenthood and all the unknowns of your new journey.  Creating art helps you discover your own beliefs about birth, yourself, and how to shine light through your own wisdom and intuition.

It is also useful for those attending births, birth workers, to process the births we have supported. This includes loved ones of a birthing person, spouses and partners, doulas, nurses, and physicians.

Birth Art is designed as a deeply personal way to prepare for your birth and prepare for parenting, or as you reflect on the birth you just had.

Designed for birth workers who attend births and walk the parenthood journey with clients, friends, or family members.

  • Participants will use pastels and paper and draw from various prompts. You can also use crayons or markers.

  • This is different than art therapy and no artistic skills are required.

  • The process of making art is used as a tool to prepare for birth as a thresholds we cross, or process a birth, so no need to share any final product or outcome.

Each artistic endeavor is a journey of self-discovery, practicing leaning into discomfort, surrendering to the unknown, and letting the creative ‘self’ guide you. I facilitate this exploration; I will not assess or diagnose based on any person’s artistic creation.

We all get the most out of our sessions when we attend a series. I recommend starting by committing to three sessions.

Labyrinth

Labyrinth making is a beautiful form of meditation guiding you, the participant, on a journey of the unknown. According to our Birthing from Within teachings, the labyrinth is an ancient tool used to facilitate self-reflection, tap into your innate wisdom, and is perfect when practicing navigating the upcoming transformation and journey which is birth.

Although she had brought the colors of the daylight sky to comfort her, Aurora found that she was not afraid in the dark place of the indigo sky. She now understood Grandmother’s mysterious words. Together again, Aurora and her family celebrated her journey with the caribou, which had led Aurora to discover courage and her own inner light.
